Frisson-Traditionelle: Champagne With Verve

letuffeau.com (Link) Bubbles for the Silly Season — “For most of you, the silly season doesn’t start until the 31st of October. For us at Le Tuffeau, it started about two weeks ago. I’m already scared of the cumulative hangover. Not to worry, however … The only whites we’re peddling here with ample frisson are the below two sparkling wines. A glass of either will put a spring in your step and send any party off with a bang, as the cork is rapidly ejected from the bottle at projectile velocity. WARNING: Do not sabre these bottles while under the influence of alcohol.” — David “Me drink wine with bubble … Me happy …” — Nick — ~ please note : discounts are automatically applied at the digital check-out! ~ I Stefano Lubiana NV Brut Reserve (Shelf Price: $59.00) Offer Price: $54.00 Straight 6-Pack: $270.00 ($45.00/bottle) “The current disgorgement of Stefano Lubiana’s non-vintage ‘red label’ Brut Reserve exudes Pinot-led charm at every turn, from the faint blush in the glass to the red-fruited nose that bursts with rose petals and redcurrant jelly. Additionally, there are crushed citrus leaves, lemon confit, cornflakes, and faint hints of pâté. The palate here is fresh, toasty, and full, yet despite these descriptors is unencumbered either by excessive dosage or lees work. Nicely balanced. Dancing across the palate are redcurrants, citrus zest, toasted bran flakes and wheat rusk, and hints of praline. Dangerously drinkable, without having to think about it too much.” — David Order here (Link) II J. Lassalle NV Champagne Premier Cru Brut ‘Preference’ (Shelf Price: $135.00) Offer Price: $122.00 Straight 6-Pack: $660.00 ($110.00/bottle) “Tasting note from Imperial. The Jerome Lassalle Brut Preference stands apart from the clutch of classic, house-made Champagnes in two respects. First, it is always a gorgeous fruit and floral led Champagne that practically dances across the palate providing refreshment with grace, and never tending lean. Secondly, it is the only house champagne house run entirely by women. Softly alluring (David emphasises a rolled-R pronunciation) in the glass, the J. Lassalle Brut Preference carries an aromatic profile of orchard fruits, dried meadow flowers, patisserie cream, and baking spices. Aeration reveals supporting lees-work notes, with toasted bran and flaked almonds. The plate is bright and fresh, defined more by sweet but never sucrose floral notes. Pear and chamomile, followed by light mineral touches, buttered classic white bread, and faint hints of crushed stones on the close. That sums up the Lassalle Champagnes. There is an inkling of their higher wines here with almond paste and pistachio praline suggestive in the background.” — David Order here (Link) If you would like any of the above, would like to come by for a private appointment, or just have some questions — please let us know.
