Dappled 2025 - First Tranche of the "firmly "insider choices' for the valley."

/ letuffeau.com (Link) “Dappled has always struck me as a passion project. A desire, with occasional regional Victorian detours, to express some fundamental and elemental nature of the Yarra Valley seems at the heart of (winemaker) Shaun Crinion's endeavour.” — David Reminder - Upcoming Events Bookings and Queries by reply email or 9419 3867 — Wednesday, 15th July 6.30pm The Great Tradition of Rioja - a guided tasting with David Murray — Blanco, Rosado, and Tinto Wines from R. Lopez de Heredia La Rioja Alta Hermanos Pecina Akutain $115.00 per ticket ~ enquire ~ — “Last year, I wrote We have received a infuriatingly tiny allocation of Shaun Crinion's Dappled … releases. These are, as ever, eagerly anticipated every year as high watermarks of Yarra Valley wines and remain reasonably priced for their quality. Perhaps it is the miniscule production, often just 1-2 barrels of each; perhaps it is Shaun’s desire to stay out of the limelight; perhaps it is the truly awful labels ... whatever the reason these wines remain firmly 'insider choices' for the valley. The same conditions remain infuriatingly in place for 2025. Quantities are miniscule. Do not expect top ups this year! I cannot add much more to my notes except a brief on the 2025 vintage. 2025 continues to show itself, much like 2023 across Burgundy and Bordeaux, to be a vintage of easy drinking. Colour, fruit-weight, ample texture, and ‘drinkability’ all came easily in the quick and smoothing sailing solar vintage. The wines do not lack for acid either, given the ability most had to pick when they wanted: and that was early! In short, these wines look brilliant now … so why wait?” — David — Dappled 2025 Mixed 6-Pack … 2 * each of the below wines (Shelf Price: $310.00) (Offer Price: $278.00) Special 6-pack Price: $248.00 ~ by reply email only ~ The White single vineyard whites : coming later this year I Dappled 2025 Yarra Valley Chardonnay ‘Appellation’ limited (Shelf Price: $49.00) Offer: $44.00 “Routinely Nick’s house Chardonnay. Beautifully ripe and nearly opulent this year, held in check by classic acidity and fine salinity. Ripe yellow stone fruit, lemon curd; clay and chalk dust; citrus leaf nuances. Delicious. If last year was ‘Aussie Chassagne’ this has more in common with ripe Chablis this year, or even Meursault.” — David & “Aromas of white peach, citrus blossom, mille-feuille and toasted nuts. The palate is quite savoury with salty lime freshness, but the weight and texture builds with time and you’ll start to see the trademark juicy stone fruit flavours. It’s tightly-coiled and as usual with be fantastic now with some air, or a few years in the cellar if you can wait!” — Shaun Crinion, Winemaker Order here (Link) The Reds please note : the below is the only Pinot Noir from Dappled this year II Dappled 2025 Yarra Valley Pinot Noir ‘Lieu-dit Series’ limited (Shelf Price: $54.00) Offer: $49.00 “Very Yarra with wonderful whole-bunch lift. Ripely floral aromatics endowed with plenty of solar cherry fruit, pomegranate especially along with blood orange. Sweet anise, peppercorns, and bay bring complexity. Fine.” — David & “The moderately warm and dry year resulted in long, cool ripening that delivers a Pinot of fantastic depth and weight. Rich cherry cola and dark chocolate aromas mix with dark plum and a gentle smokey oak spice. The palate is rich with davidson plum [sic] and dark cherry fruit, combined with a creamy roundness and fresh cherry pip acidity. Complex cigar box spices are gentle and structured tannins close the long finish.” — Shaun Crinion, Winemaker Order here (Link) III (Link) Dappled 2025 Yarra Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc ‘Tradition’ limited (Shelf Price: $52.00) Offer: $46.00 “Beaten to classic, old school, and Claret by the winemaker! Quid pluram dicam, lectores?” — David & “It was a classic warm and dry year for these varieties and so the wine pours out with a ridiculous bright purple colour. The aromas are the benchmark Yarra Cabernet, black currant, violets and dusty cigar box. The palate is plush and dense with black fruits, medium tannins and fantastic length. It’s great now but also great for the cellar! Classic old school Claret.” — Shaun Crinion, Winemaker Order here (Link) … Please join us for a drink soon. Reservations preferred.
