$48 Georgian Amber Wine - I Don't F-ing Know the First Think About It

letuffeau.com (Link) Okro’s Wine Kakheti, Georgia — “That’s very fun.” — Nick “I think I want another glass of that…!” — David “That’s because this is a seriously mature, powerful, and intellectual wine, David, but still distinctively Georgian.” — Nick “ … I know and remember sweet fuck-all about the details of this wine, but that does not matter. This is a gustatory orange — nay, amber wine from Georgia — one that delivers every conceivable facet of every peach (Nick, please insert that peach emoji here) spectrum, from fresh and very ripe, through dried to salted, with hints of liqueur, even the blossom off the tree. I think what is most wonderful about this wine is its full and rich mouthfeel, coupled to a lovely line of acidity which is never aggressive. It’s just great drinking.” — David “Frankly, I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed an orange wine this much.” — Nick — Okro’s Wines 2022 Kakheti Rkatsiteli ‘Zveri’ (Shelf Price: $58.00) Offer Price: $48.00 “A full and ruddy orange, yet perfectly transparent at the same time; zero turbidity. Powerful nose of cooked and fresh apricots and peaches, salted peach skin, pressed linen, and sweet smoked fat. The nose for sure has a depth hidden behind its upfront charms; I think of leatherwood honey, mineral nuances, and dried herbs. This is amber wine con brio. Dried and salted peach, hints of pickled ginger, melted wax. This is a wine you can really sink your teeth into, there is a toothsome quality that makes it ‘chewy’. The palate is fully structured, with highly sapid acidity to match the robust wax and fruit-laden flavours that proliferate before the smoky, salty close.” — David Order here (Link) If you would like any of the above, would like to come by for a private appointment, or just have some questions — please let us know.
