"This 2024 Chardonnay, reflective of a mild-to-warm growing season and two sheltered, mature sites at the Coolart Creek and Jimjoca Vineyards), is aromatically precise with chiselled nuances of ripe orchard fruit, flaked almonds, freshly baked bread, and broken shells wafting from the glass. Behind, with coaxing, are pistachio praline, wax, and tarragon. The palate is fresh yet retains signature generosity of spirit, though something Chablisien lingers over the whole affair - perhaps it is the acid line coupled to the slightly honeyed almond finish? Peaches and white nectarine, hints of proving dough and further praline, mineral and saline touches, and light almond notes on the denouement. The finish is salty and cooling. A rare Peninsula Chardonnay that spotlights texture and vineyard complexities over base fruit and winemaking. Delicious, moreish." — David
