"Serious on first pour with dark, almost liqueur cherry wreathed in brooding notes of toasted fennel seed, cigar leaf, and mineral ore. Slight dusting of bitter cocoa. The palate maintains freshness, teetering between medium and full-bodied. The tannins, while imposing, are also fine and detailed. There's an Aussie touch via saltbush and blue-gum garrigue, then some of the Italian heritage with myrtafolia (aka: chinotto) rind and amaro spiciness. I had another glass during the tasting and maybe was derelict when it came to the spittoon." - David
