"Having just professed a leaning towards the Cinsault I write this note, grinning, with egg on my face. Metaphorically of course. This is a unique Mourvedre.
A lovely mid-dark ruby with slight violet touches in the glass. No luridity. Sliced fresh blood plums and tarragon burst from the glass with a spice inflected vibrancy; fresh blood orange lurks in reserve adding a sense of tension to a varietal too often lacking such. The palate is flowing and satiny, with a greater sense of rondeur than the Cinsault or Shiraz; pleasing tannins offering support to the fruit. Crushed blackberry, some preserve, liquorice and mineral touches; spice-cake. There are hints of bush garrigue on the finish. New varietal expression that never delves to formless experimentation." - David
