"Rob Hall's delightful 2024 Yarra Valley Cabernets is Claret. Pure & simple. It bursts from the glass with typicity; red cherry and mulberry, claro cigar wrapper, sweet wood, earthen tones, and oregano all contribute to the delightful aromatic profile. Aeration sharpens the fruit profile, with cassis and blackberry rising to the front as if from the depths of the complexities just described; spice box and crushed stone add nuance behind. Creamily texture, weighty without being dense, and with tannins of such finesse one fees the need to double-check the price, the palate is once again Claret typified. Black and red current, black cherry and a hint of blood orange mingle with tarragon and oregano, with sweet black Spanish olive appearing and repeating on the close along with the herbal tones.
