"A generous and weighty aromatic profile which opens with a wealth of yellow peaches and nectarines, pomelo, and a very Chassagne-esque hint of thyme oil adding lovely herbal nuance.
The palate is similarly powerful and yellow-fruited, with a pear-like quality of flavour that is mirrored by a crunchy, front-of-the-palate acid profile. This surely reminds one of crunching down on a fresh Corella pear. The palate has a beautiful shape, and despite all of its power and yellow fruit it still feels lean; the phenolic profile remains coiled—mouth-watering, even—on the granitic mineral finish. There is certainly more here that only age will reveal.
A very fine, very serious Chardonnay. Drink now with pleasure, but this is really a wine that is probably best kept in the cellar for at least in ten years, if you can resist. I am sure the Stelvin will hold." — Nick
