"Hailing from a cool, slightly dismal and wet vintage this 2014 Crianza from ultra-traditionalist estate Hermanos (Brothers) Pecina has a winsome aromatic profile of dried red flowers, incense, and herbs. There is a core of crushed red berry fruits which, with aeration, is increasingly trimmed with earth, maduro cigars, campfire ash, and a touch of Whittaker’s Coconut Slab. The palate is utterly silken, with soft and nearly resolved tannin, underscored by a fine line of refreshing acidity. There is a marine touch on the finish as well as a wonderful, faintly caressing nudge from the acidity on the close. Dark cherry, dried strawberry, shaved coconut; sweet herbs and dried orange rind. There is a disarming degree of succulence on the palate. Very good drinking - fine." — David
