GuYue Wines 2025 McLaren Vale Grillo 'Blewitt Springs'

"An inviting pale gold, the 2025 Grillo from GuYue (Ancient Moon) Wines bursts from the glass with notes of white tea, apricot blossom, and ripe stone fruits. There are complexifying eddies of sea spray, almond paste, and tarragon in the background; not to mention immensely attractive nuances of tangy orange citrus oil and crushed leaf of same. The palate is fresh and racy on attack before leading to weighty centre underpinned the whole way through by a refreshing line of acid which leads to a lingering, satisfyingly saline conclusion with inklings of mineral dust and beach sand. Pear oil, musky citrus, almond paste, ripe apricot, peach all abound with hints of fennel seed and ripe mandarin on the close. I should add there is a healthy amount of phenolic and food friendly tannin here. Grilled squid? Absolutely. Most moreish and refreshing." — David
