Donnhoff 2022 Nahe Riesling Trocken

The Donnhoff 2022 Riesling Trocken (dry) is an estate wine with all fruit grown on the South-East facing slopes of the Oberhausen Valley. The nose is classic upper-Nahe and an excellent introduction to the Donnhoff style. Multitudinous yellow fruits: ripe clingstone peaches and pineapple foremost, with pear and apricot behind as well as some broken flint and spicy, peppery/herbal touches marking the terroir-influence. The palate is focused, piquant with bright acidity and charming saltiness. Further yellow fruits, flint, and a long finish that demands another sip. This Riesling embodies all the qualities I love in Nahe wines. - David
