Domaine Gilbert Picq 2022 Chablis

"The 2022 Chablis from the Picq is very strict and precise for such a solar vintage. The nose reveals, with some coaxing, crushed citrus leaves, seaspray, and small wet stones; further aeration brings tart green apple and lime zest. The palate emphasises line and length over mass: there is a beautiful longeur to the structure and a steely finish uncommon to Chablis at this level. Citrus peel, some lees derived richness, and sliced white-green fruit grace the palate; saline touches, some oyster shell/crustacea, and a hint of bitter quinine add complexity. Picq's strict 100% stainless steel regime renders as always a very fine Chablis for the purists." - David
