"Deep garnet, the Chateau Oceale 2019 Haut-Medoc takes time in the glass to express itself. Aeration reveals a deeply classical wine, with a core of graphite interspersed with notions of cassis, oregano, and wet stone. There is a wonderful sense of propriety here, as if the wine would not deign to be led by fruit. Estuarine nuances lend complexity. The palate, utterly silken again, is strict and linear - a sense of array is present and most welcome. Crushed river stones predominate on the palate, with cassis, blackberry, and further herbal nuances present. Tightly wound. A welcomely stony representation of Bordeaux; a faithful picture of its Cissac terroir. Fine." — David
