"This multi-vintage Chardonnay from youthful legend Charles Oliver elicits a short-lived hush before excited hooting takes over the room. Aussie Tissot is the phrase on our lips. A drop-dead gorgeous nose of lemon curd, barley drops, toasted bran, fresh green apple, crushed shells and dried honey. Deep breath here. Slight inflections of fresh and cooked pear, brown spices, and cashews. The interplay here, courtesy of un-topped barrels, of freshness and aldehydic notes is very well done, and enticing to boot. The palate is supremely fresh, driven, and possesses wonderful late acidic cut and phenolics. Ripe pear and orchard fruit, baked bread, toasted brans, and mineral thrust. Simply amazing. A patchwork of vintages lead to a wine that outdrinks Patchwork itself. Chapeau Charles!" — David
