"Cherries, peonies, and autumnal sous bois waft alluring from the glass. By way of framing there are distinctly sensual touches of bergamot, black Yunnan tea, potting soil, and exotic spices. The palate, while certainly possessing the elusive rondeur I search for in Burgundy and often fail to see in Antipodean wines, is also sapid and alert with fine tannins on the long, mineral and orange peel inflected close. Further cherries, floral touches, a hint of smoky fermented tea; the palate feels less like these mingle but present in array with a dash of white pepper on the finish. Very fine." - David
