"The value prospect here is patently insane. Shiraz (75% - 140y/o vines) and younger vine Mataro blended into a wine that melds savoury complexity with a darkly rich fruit profile. The nose leads with crushed blood plum and blackberries dusted with cocoa, followed by liquorice, fresh pepper, and hints of baked earth. There is a lovely roundness to the palate with fine tannins on the sneakily long close. Further crushed red-black fruit with a dab of preserve, baking and milk chocolate, and some mineral (iron-ore?) notes. Just delicious, maybe more so when firing up the coal BBQ." - David
