The Camin Larredya 2023 Jurancon Sec possesses an indefinable quality of pure pleasure, unwinding in the glass with a full aromatic profile of quince, poached pear, and clementine. Aeration and concentration bring halva, apricot, warm river stones, and a hint of vanilla pod. The palate is juicy and full, yet has medium acid and fine, almost Riesling-like tannin that kicks in before a long and gently tapering savoury/mineral finish. Poached pear and fresh quince; a real savoury quality that takes halva as its starting point before a complex melange of unroasted peanuts, digestive and hob-nob biscuits, bulgur/wheat germ segue into the finish. This finish is long and tapering, with repeating notes of mineral and toasted oats.
