I rip the capsule whole off the bottle, pour a glass, and am immediately entranced by the whole cherry tree that has taken to wafting over the strains of Archie Shepp’s ‘Sea of Faces’ album.
I never would have thought I could find myself getting stuck into a Cabernet Sauvignon - Sangiovese blend from the Yallingup sub-region of the Margaret River … not least this week, this time of day.
Effusive. A wine of sheer pleasure. This bursts with all the freshness of the second day of Spring.
I think this swine finally has found an appreciable pearl.”

“This charming blend, modelled obviously on the famous Tuscan wines that emerged mid-Century, bursts from the glass exuding freshness and charm at every turn. Bright cherry and cranberry, pomegranate, preserved peppercorns, and bay mingle with just enough complexity in the form of cloves, orange rind, and cherry branch wood. The palate carries bright and focusing acidity allied to soft yet present tannins. Morello cherries, sliced fresh plums, and blood orange. Succulent, Miss Piggy is smitten by her glass. A brief mingling of spices and freshness on the close. Charmed, I’m sure.”
